Can anyone offer some recommendations for what type of truck I might want to consider having (or buying) that would be good enough (or better) for truck campers to sit on top? Anything in particular I may want to research to find the right truck to use with my truck camper?
Hi Tom, Great question. One of the most important areas of concern is carrying capacity of the vehicle. The vehicles “Payload” capacity is the # that you should be looking at. Then compare the GVWR or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of the camper. Make sure that your payload capacity is = to or higher than the GVWR. GVWR is the dry weight of the camper + the maximum allowed weight of additional cargo (like food, water, supplies). Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
